Auto-Graphics Signs Distribution Deal

By LJ Staff

Auto-Graphics, Inc. has signed a deal with capcon Library Network under which the
nonprofit organization will distribute the vendor’s AGent portal software to its member
libraries. capcon provides multiple services such as access to OCLC cataloging,
resource sharing, electronic reference sources, web authoring and development
training, and electronic reference products to libraries in Washington, DC,
Maryland, and Virginia. Auto-Graphics’ AGent portal manages patron
authentication for multiple databases and insures copyright compliance against
subscription databases and simultaneous database searching. Auto-Graphics also
agreed with EBSCO to allow libraries running AGent to tap into a library’s
EBSCOhost resources. Researchers launching a search in AGent would be able to
use EBSCOhost’s navigation tools and display pages but would see the results in
their own interface. Additionally, Chaffey College, a two-year community college
based in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, has contracted for the installation of AGent.
