Actor Eastwood Files $10 Million Suit Against St. Martin’s

By LJ Staff

Flinty actor/director Clint Eastwood is living up to his tough guy image by
filing a $10 million lawsuit against author Patrick McGilligan and publisher St.
Martin’s over an unauthorized biography. The suit, filed in the U.S. District
Court in San Jose, CA, asserts that the volume Clint: The Life of a
Legend
, published last August, deliberately attempts to damage the Oscar
winner’s reputation by portraying him as a wife-beater, coward, and more. St.
Martin’s legal counsel asserts that all materials in the book are accurate and
accuses Eastwood of continually trying to suppress the truth about himself by
pursuing litigation against authors and publishers.
