Dutton Bags Moose for Sniper Story

By LJ Staff

Dutton Books has signed Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose for his inside account of the D.C. sniper investigation. Tentatively titled Three Weeks in October: The Manhunt for the D.C. Sniper, the book will be ghosted by former Newsweek journalist Charles Fleming. Dutton is aiming for a fall release date, which probably will coincide roughly with the trials of suspects Lee Malvo and John Allen Muhammad. Dutton did not disclose financial aspects of the contract. Moose was particularly closemouthed during the investigation, so it remains to be seen what he has to say in print.
