EBSCO’s Biomedical Reference Collection Expands

By LJ Staff

EBSCO’s Biomedical Reference Collection: Comprehensive Edition is living up
to its name, expanding to include almost 800 full-text journals abstracted in
MEDLINE, 90 percent of which include PDFs. Recent additions to the database
include Chest, Journal of Bone & Joint Surgery, and the
Journal of Family Practice. PDF backfiles on some of the publications
date back as far as 1960. Additionally, EBSCO claims that its Nursing and Allied
Health Collection: Comprehensive Edition is now the world’s largest database of
full-text journals indexed in CINAHL. That collection sports nearly 400
full-text journals abstracted in CINAHL, with 90 percent including PDFs. EBSCO
also has enlarged its Psychology & Behavioral Science Collection, the Health
Business Elite, Health Source Consumer Edition, and Alt Health Watch databases.
