Auditors Find Money Stolen from Fort Worth PL

By LJ Staff

When a library patron balancing his checkbook noticed that a check to the Fort Worth Public Library had not cleared, that set off an investigation that showed tens of thousands of dollars were stolen. Apparently, the thefts occurred during routine transfers of funds from the branches to the central library, officials told the Fort Worth Star Telegram. No one has been arrested and the exact sums are unclear. The library has since changed its accounting procedures.
