Grants Available for Jewish Literature Initiative

By LJ Staff

Applications are available for Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature Identity and Imagination, a new initiative that will award grants to up to 200 public and academic libraries across the country. Applications for the first grant round must be received by June 1. Presented by the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office and Nextbook: A Gateway to Jewish Literature, Culture and Ideas, Let’s Talk About It: Jewish Literature Identity and Imagination features four new themes exploring Jewish literature and culture. Each participating library will receive a $1,500 grant, training, and program and promotional materials to present a five-part series based on one of the four new themes. The series will be open to public audiences and feature discussion programs led by local scholars and supporting materials developed by ALA and Nextbook.

Craft Exceptional Digital Experiences for Your Users
Digital UX LJ and ER&L present an exceptional roster of library and user experience (UX) experts for our newest online course, Digital UX Workshop: Crafting Exceptional Digital Experiences for the User-Centered Library. During this 5-week online workshop, you will explore why UX matters, and how to sell user-centered design (UCD) to leadership within your organization. Whether you want to redesign your website, revamp your user interface, create a new discovery tool, implement e-resources, or develop a mobile app—you’ll have a tangible product by the end of the course.
