Ten Libraries Sign for Checkpoint RFID

Despite the ongoing concerns over RFID technology and privacy issues, libraries are embracing the technology. Checkpoint Systems Inc., has inked new contracts to install its Intelligent Library System (ILS) in ten academic and public libraries in nine states. Checkpoint’s new library partners include the prestigious Berkeley Public Library, CA; Plano Community Library, IL; Chicopee Public Library, MA,; Redford Township District Library, MI; Salem-South Lyon District Library, MI; Port Charlotte Public Library, FL; Lincoln Parish Library, Ruston, LA; City of Allen Public Library, TX. Additionally, two academic institutions, the University of Southern Indiana’s David L. Rice Library and the New York Institute of Technology, also have selected Checkpoint’s ILS.
