Norton To Distribute Other Press Titles

Other Press, the New York-based house specializing in psychoanalytic titles, has signed a distribution deal with W.W. Norton. Other releases 35 to 40 titles annually, plus additional volumes through the Handsel Books imprint overseen by its editorial director Harry Thomas. Handsel focuses on literary areas including contemporary poetry, drama, essays, and fiction. Since its formation in 1999, Other has hired several noted publishing executives and editors to expand the company. The Norton deal is an extension of that market push: "Through [Norton’s] distribution channels alone," Other publisher Judith Feher-Gurewich said, "we are expecting an accelerated growth pattern during the next year."
