Greenhaven’s Civil Rights Act of 1964 Wins Woodson Award

Greenhaven Press snagged this year’s Carter G. Woodson Book Award in the secondary-book category for its volume The Civil Rights Act of 1964, which is part of its At Issue in History series. The Woodson prize is presented annually "to the most distinguished social science books depicting ethnicity in the United States that are appropriate for young readers." The book explains how the bill changed society though an amalgam of views from a variety of sources.
