Wiseguy Claims Hoffa Hit in Forthcoming Bio

By LJ Staff

Another wiseguy is stepping up to the plate and claiming responsibility for one of the 20th century’s most famous hits. In The Ice Man: Confessions of a Mafia Contract Killer, coming in July from St. Martin’s, late hit man Richard Kuklinski tells ghost writer Philip Carlo that he murdered teamster boss Jimmy Hoffa. Kuklinski claims that he and four other unnamed assailants attacked Hoffa in Detroit and killed him by sticking a hunting knife in his head. The body then was driven to Kearny, NJ, and disposed of in a junkyard, where it was put in a steel drum and burned to ashes. So many other wiseguys with nothing to lose have told similar stories, that police and FBI experts on organized crime doubt its validity. Kuklinski died of heart failure in March while serving two life sentences.
