Graphic novel back on shelf

By LJ Staff

When the book Manga: 60 Years of Japanese Comics was pulled from the San Bernardino County Library, CA, shelves by county supervisor Bill Postmus (see News, LJ 5/15/06), the Barstow Community College Library stepped up. The library purchased three copies, putting one on display with other materials for an upcoming course on graphic novels. While local librarians, the book’s author, and some residents have thanked the library, librarian Kyri Freeman did get a letter saying she was "going to hell."
