Elsevier Partners for New Journals

By LJ Staff

Elsevier has partnered to launch two new journals. Biotechnology, the Journal will be published in conjunction with the European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB). When it debuts in September, it will be EFB’s official publication. John Hodgson, former editor of Trends in Biotechnology, will serve as editor-in-chief. Elsevier said the bi-monthly journal will be a "cross-disciplinary research and review journal aimed at an audience of academic and commercial bioscientists who are interested not only in science but also in its translation and use."Similarly, Elsevier and the American Society of Hypertension have jointly created the Journal of the American Society of Hypertension (JASH). JASH will be published bimonthly – it launched with the January/February 2007 issue – and will provide a publication forum for the best basic and translational science related to blood pressure, hypertension, vascular, cardiovascular and renal factors and disorders." It will complement the Journal of Clinical Hypertension, also an official journal of the American Society of Hypertension, by focusing on both fundamental and applied research. Society members will receive the print edition of JASH free. Members and individual subscribers will be able to access the entire contents of each issue online at the journal website. The journal also will be accessible through Elsevier’s ScienceDirect full-text collection.
