We all know that any field where top information is paramount is where librarians will be found, but you don’t hear too much about medical librarians. I guess it’s a very behind-the-scenes job. I was pleased to read this piece in the Journal Times Online about Elissa Kinzelman, assistant librarian at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Racine, WI. In providing doctors with correct, current information, she and other medical librarians might just be saving lives themselves.

I too enjoyed Elissa’s article. Our medical librarian is retiring in May, and I will miss her. I am a cardiac surgeon who relied on her help for completing projects, and she was great in getting me books and journals I needed to do my work. Can anyone think of a nice gift to give her? She will be sorely missed by me and everyone who she has devoted her life to. RJ
