Blogs seem to have replaced opinions as the thing everyone’s got besides a you-know-what, and all blogs perhaps are created equal, but some are more equal than others. Here are two you should add to your no-doubt already lengthy list of daily/weekly reads.
First up, Same Page written by my pal Beth Dempsey. If the name is familiar—and it should be—it’s because Beth has been writing for LJ and SLJ for several years, turning out some of our best features like What Boomers Want, Latinas in Need, and Wayfinding in Action.
Though not a librarian (neither is half the LJ staff including me), Beth is a marketing ace who has served the library field for years. She’s a seriously sharp cookie who knows her stuff concerning libraries (she’s also one of the funniest people I know). Stop by Same Page regularly, and please, leave comments.
For the book heads, try Give ‘em What They Want, by Nora Rawlinson. Another familiar name, Nora was LJ’s editor for roughly a decade before moving laterally to Publishers Weekly for a bunch more years. She is a librarian, and was the top buyer for Baltimore County, and knows the book market as well as anyone so brings both perspectives. Her blog, which is still in the beta stage, is a mixed bag about hot books, what’s coming in publishing, film deals, and more. Definitely check it out.

Very interesting to read your articles. Only the parties can not view in google chrome. Fix it.
