A Handy Tool

As I am out and about talking to people about marketing and social media, I find a lot of overhwelmed1 A Handy Toolpeople are overwhelmed by the amount of choice. Facebook? Twitter? My Space? How do we decide where to put our resources? 

Here’s a thoughtful way to digest some of what’s out there that might be of help to you. It is from a cmo.com (CMO stands for Chief Marketing Officer, if that is an unfamiliar term to you) and has lots of rich marketing content. In an article entitled, A CMO’s Guide to the Social Media Landscape, they provide a social media cheat sheet:

Obviously you can’t read this here, but you can download a full-sized image here. I like how the value of these sites are categorized and assessed:  customer communication, brand exposure, driving traffic to your website and search engine optimization (SEO).
