PLA 2010 It Takes a Leader to be Strategic

Are you going to PLA? I’m not, but wanted to alert you to PLA%20logo PLA 2010 It Takes a Leader to be Strategica session if you are attending.

"It Takes a Leader to be Stategic" is a session led by Adam Gay, one of our partners at OrangeBoy Market Research. OrangeBoy helped my library undertake customer research, which defined customer behaviors, which became our Strategic Plan. Meaning, marketing research created our strategic plan.

OrangeBoy has worked with a lot of libraries besides mine: Cuyahoga County Library, Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County, and Santa Clara Public Library.

The session will demonstrate how to:

Identify and
segment your customers based on usage, behavior and lifestyle

Prioritize customer segments to deliver increased community impact

Improve productivity of through a more targeted, focused strategic planning process

Convert your strategic plan into a living document that evolves

Adam is one of several other speakers during the session, which is March 25 at 2:00. Hope you’ll make a point of stopping by! Click here for more PLA 2010 Conference News coverage from the editors of Library Journal and School Library Journal.
