University Press Content Consortium at 51 Partners and Counting

Just a few months after the merger of the Project MUSE Editions project and the University Press ebook Consortium (UPCC) to form the University Press Content Consortium  (see “Two University Press Ebook Initiatives Merge“), UPCC has announced a total of 51 partners on board. From their latest their latest announcement:

Among the new publishers joining the initiative are Pennsylvania State University Press, Georgetown University Press, Northwestern University Press, Cork University Press, Hong Kong University Press, University of Texas Press, Vanderbilt University Press, University of Arizona Press, Southern Illinois University Press, and Wilfrid Laurier University Press. The newly confirmed participants bring strengths in indigenous studies, comparative literature, Latin American studies, theater, Irish studies, and Jewish studies, among others, and will supplement anticipated content depth in areas such as literary criticism, policy studies, religion, gender studies, bioethics, and history of medicine and technology.

The two other project competing for university press contracts are Books at JSTOR and Oxford’s University Press Scholarship Online (UPSO) (see “New Ebook Platforms Target the Scholarly Monograph“).
