The Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) has elected Steven J. Bell as vice-president/president-elect. He defeated Thomas E. Abbott by a vote of 1,753 to 747. Bell is associate university librarian, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, and also is the author of the column From the Bell Tower in Library Journal. The complete ACRL election results are here.
Also, the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) announced the election of the following new board members on April 29: Zoe Stewart-Marshall, vice-president/president-elect, Lauren Pressley, David Lee King, and John Blyberg, directors-at-large.
