Jinny Baeckler is retiring from her position of Director, Plainsboro Public Library, NJ, after 20 years of service.
Michael Bell and Katie Clark will serve as Interim Co-Deans, River Campus Libraries, University of Rochester, NY; their terms begin July 1. They replace Susan Gibbons, Vice Provost and Andrew H. and Janet Dayton Neilly Dean, who will lead the Yale University library system. Clark is Associate Dean for Public Services and Collection Development. Bell is Assistant Dean, Information Technology.
Maurice Freedman has been appointed Interim Director, Purchase Free Library, NY. He was Director, Westchester Library System, Tarrytown, NY, for 23 years before retiring in 2005, and was 2003-04 President, American Library Association.
Royce Kitts is leaving his position of Director, Tonganoxie Public Library, KS. He will become Education Librarian, Mabee Library, Washburn University, Topeka, KS.
Richard Mariconda has been appointed Director, Little Ferry Free Public Library NJ. He most recently was Director, Wanaque Borough Free Public Library, NJ.
Lucinda Mazza is the new Library Director, Hollis Social Library, NH. She previously was Reference and Adult Services Librarian, Wadleigh Memorial Library, Milford, NH.
Richard Mott is the new Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Jacksonville Public Library, FL. He was the library’s Training Manager.
Richard Quartaroli, Special Collections Librarian, Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, is retiring after 14 years of service.
Karen Snow has been appointed Assistant Professor of Library Science, Dominican University, River Forest, IL. She currently is a Teaching Fellow, College of Information University of North Texas, Denton, where she is a doctoral candidate.
Tracy Sumler is the new Branch Manager, Cascades Library, Loudoun County Public Library, Leesburg, VA. She comes from District of Columbia Public Library, where she was Manager, Capitol View Library
Donald Wathen, Director, Henderson County Public Library, KY, will retire August 1 after 32 years in the position.
Alison Weissinger has been named Director, DeKalb County Public Library, Decatur, GA. She had been Acting Director since September 2010 and, before that, was Adult Services Coordinator.
Kelley Worman is the new Associate County Librarian, Fresno County Public Library, CA, replacing Patricia Pondexter, who retired in April. Worman most recently was Metro Branch Supervisor for the Politi and Pinedale libraries.
