Jack Blount is the new OCLC President and CEO. He was Founder and CEO of Alpha Bay Corporation and before that was President and CEO of Dynix Corp. Blount succeeds Jay Jordan, who retires this month after 14 years at OCLC.
Anne Cooper Moore will become Dean of Library Affairs, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, effective July 16. She is currently Dean of Libraries for University Libraries, University of South Dakota (USD), Vermillion; Director of Wegner Health Sciences Information Center, Sioux Falls, SD; and Associate Professor of Educational Administration, School of Education, USD.
Vivica Pierre has been appointed Director, Library & Learning Commons, Bunker Hill Community College, Boston. She was Manager, Records and Information Management, Legal and Compliance, University of Louisiana, Lafayette.
Thomas Peters, Assistant Dean for Strategic Technology Initiatives, Milner Library, Illinois State University, Normal, has been named Dean of University Libraries, Missouri State University, Springfield. He will begin his duties August 1.

Natasha Trethewey has been named the nation’s 19th Poet Laureate Consultant in Poetry for 2012–13 by Librarian of Congress James Billington. She is an English and Creative Writing Professor, Emory University, Atlanta. Her term begins September 13.

Jackie Faust-Moreno, Director, Arcadia Public Library, CA, died on June 2; she was 63. She began working at the library in 1984 as a reference librarian and became Director last year.
