Susan Black, Youth Services Manager, Cleveland Height–University Heights Public Library, has retired after 34 years of service.
Delise Christensen is the new Librarian, Arizona City Community Library, Pinal County Library District (PCLD), Florence. She has worked at PCLD for 14 years and replaces Joyce Baker, who now works at Coolidge Public Library, AZ.
Anthony Cocciolo, Assistant Professor, School of Information and Library Science, Pratt Institute, New York, has been recognized with the Library of Congress’s National Digital Stewardship Alliance Innovation Award.
Elaine Dunne-Thayer has been appointed Director, Massena Public Library (MPL), NY. She was Youth Services Librarian at MPL for the past 12 years.
James Lingle has been named Director of National Sales and Marketing for Electronic Resources, IGI Global. He recently was National/International Sales Manager, ABC-CLIO.
Mary Lingner is the new Director, Cheatham County Public Library (CCPL), Ashland City, TN, succeeding Brooke Mullican. Lingner was Assistant Director, CCPL.
Elaine Nuhn has retired from her position as Director, Macon Public Library, GA, after serving for six years.
Heather Reid, Director of Data Systems, Copyright Clearance Center, Inc., has been elected Chair, Board of Directors, National Information Standards Organization, for 2013–14. She first will serve as Vice Chair, Board of Directors, 2012–13.
Leslie Scherer, Director, Wallingford Public Library, CT, has announced her plans to retire at the end of 2012. She has worked at the library for 38 years, becoming Director in 2007.
Tammi Spayde, OCLC Vice President, Human Resources, was named “Executive of the Year,” Midsize Organization Category, during the HR Excellence Awards 2012 event held August 2.
Lead the Change is a library leadership seminar that brings together library thought leaders to show participants how today's top libraries are leading change and transforming their communities. Attendees are lead through a series of exercises to help bridge
key thoughts to individual leadership objectives to help them harness their ideas, their innovation and their ability to lead.
