Starting this month, Titan Comics joins forces with the iconic crime fiction imprint Hard Case Crime to launch Hard Case Crime Comics. Releasing both original and adapted works by celebrated authors of the crime genre as well as emerging voices in comics, the new line will boast the same gritty, sexy violence for which the mystery publisher is well known.
“Exciting,” “addictive, and “believable” are but a few of the adjectives presenters at the “Top Thrills” panel at LJ’s 18th annual Day of Dialog used to describe their latest books, among the season’s best suspense and mystery novels.
For librarians headed to ALA Midwinter in Seattle, may I strongly suggest NO STARBUCKS. As a general rule, this is expected of the resident. For the visitor, abstaining for one day is good enough.
Instead, as a Seattle native, I recommend a ten-minute walk (probably in the rain) to a few of Seattle’s superlative and nearby-the-Convention-Center cafés, located along the E. Pine/ E. Pike St. corridor in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.
