Buffalo rocks. Good bars, bright (albeit a bit pasty) people, a Frank Lloyd Wright aficianado’s town, great food, and close to an international border.

AL, even though I know who you are and where you live (I am a librarian after all) no burning down the house, but you have to meet me at Mohawk Place and I’ll ply you with drinks all night.

I think Seattle’s Niceness Culture may have rubbed off on the AL a bit. (Hey, I’ve lived in Seattle for 13 years. It’s gotten so I have to go to Detroit or something when I need to be abrasive.)

Hey, AL, don’t underestimate Buffalo. Lots of good booze cheap (and bars open until 4am. a benefit not to be underestimated), best junk food on the planet, plenty of decent non-junk food, and oh, yeah, a pretty good library. Also MUCH cheaper than Chicago. Ahem, former Buffalonian out.

A truly annoyed librarian would not go to the conference and just stay at home, swill vodka, and toss brickbats at the neighborhood kids who had the temerity to walk on your lawn.
