Lead the Change: Engaging Your Community is a full-day, hands-on workshop that brings library thought-leaders, directors, and staff together to explore effective marketing and community engagement strategies.
During this interactive program, you will be exposed to fresh ideas, insights and views from David Bendekovic, program developer and his co-facilitators, including recent LJ Librarians of the Year and Movers and Shakers. You will be guided through a planning workbook and provided with tips, tools and techniques for developing and executing an integrated, sustainable marketing and engagement plan.
Position your library in the mind of your community
The rapid evolution and adoption of social media and mobile devices has resulted in a shift in the marketing power dynamic from marketers to community members. Today’s leading libraries are taking full advantage of that shift, moving from ‘promote and hope’ campaigns to engagement marketing. Regardless of job title, everybody in the library needs to think of themselves as a marketer to meet the changing needs of existing patrons and reach new users.
You will be challenged to rethink your customers, your community, your processes and your organizational capabilities and will walk away with a framework that gets results.

Attendees will receive a Personal Action Planner and will be led through a series of exercises to help bridge key thoughts and concepts to individual leadership.
