11:30 am: Bus pick up at the Residence Inn by Marriott Miami Aventura Mall | 19900 West Country Club Drive, Aventura, FL 33180

12:00 pm: Arrive at North Dade Regional Library

The North Dade Regional Library opened to the public in September 1979 and serves a multicultural community in the northwest quadrant of Miami-Dade County. The Miami-Dade Public Library System’s Technobus, YOUmedia Miami and two bookmobiles operate from this location. Special library materials loaned to licensed day care facilities, the visually impaired and our homebound residents are also maintained at this library. The North Dade Regional Library has a large programming room and two conference rooms for family programs and special events. The Children’s Story Theater provides comfortable seating for young patrons who attend many of the special programs. Puppet shows, story times and creative dramatics are regular features in this Children’s department.

1:30 pm: Arrive at Miami Children’s Museum

Miami Children’s Museum is dedicated to enriching the lives of all children by fostering a love of learning and enabling children to realize their highest potential. To achieve its mission, the Museum builds unique collaborations and pursues strategies that welcome all families to participate in the MCM learning community. As a multi-dimensional resource, the Museum offers exhibits, programs and services that take an interactive approach to promote continual learning.

2:25 pm: Arrive at Miami Beach Regional Library

The Miami Beach Regional Library, located one block from the Atlantic Ocean in the heart of South Beach, is a spacious two-story building that contains several meeting rooms, an outdoor courtyard, a gallery and a café area. The large windows in the lobby are complemented by colorful art work. The second floor children’s area features a space for storytelling and early literacy events as well as an interactive technology and craft space for all ages.

3:00 pm: Depart Miami Beach Regional Library

3:45 pm: Arrive at Northeast Dade – Aventura Library

This new state‑of‑the‑art library is a modern hub of learning and recreation made with eco‑friendly construction and sustainable materials. The library includes a rainwater harvesting tank for irrigation and native landscaping.

The one‑story concrete and steel 26,482 square foot building is comprised of open areas for adults, young adults and children. There are two courtyards, a covered open terrace, a new permanent public art installation by artist Ivan Toth Depeña provided by Miami‑Dade Art in Public Places and a retention pond featuring native aquatic plants. There are four large display screens throughout the building to provide customers with library information on special events, workshops, classes and services.
