Akron-Summit PL to Wait on Director

By LJ Staff

The board of the Akron-Summit County Public Library, OH, have decided to delay looking for a new director until fall, wanting to wait until the system has a long-range plan in hand. The library lacks $3.2 million needed to complete a building plan, and also lacks a director after Steven Hawk retired in April to take another job in Ohio. Assistant Director David Jennings has been serving as interim director and former Finance Director Kelly Kroll has been serving as interim clerk-treasurer–both jobs held by Hawk. The board now plans to hire two people to fill those jobs, according to the Akron Beacon-Journal.
