By LJ Staff

The Bellevue Literary Review (BLR) and the New York University School of Medicine have partnered to create the Bellevue Literary Press. BLR said that the new trade house, "intends to publish books of the greatest artistic and intellectual merit from the larger community, both medical and nonmedical, while reflecting NYU’s excellence in scholarship, humanistic medicine, and science." The press will produce both fiction and nonfiction in the sciences, social sciences, and arts, although all the works will relate to the human body, illness, health, and healing. The initial titles in the press’s line will debut in Spring 2007. Jerome Lowenstein, BLR‘s nonfiction editor will serve as publisher with Erika Goldman as editorial director.
