Library People News: Hires, Promotions, Retirements, and Obituaries

The Association of Research Libraries Board of Directors appointed Anne R. Kenney, most recently Carl A. Kroch University Librarian at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, as Interim Executive Director, effective January 1.

Regina Koury, formerly Assistant University Librarian for Discovery and Resource Services at Idaho State University, Pocatello, has accepted the position of Director of the Paul Robeson Library at Rutgers University–Camden, NJ, effective January 16.

John F. Szabo, City Librarian of the Los Angeles Public Library, was appointed Chair of the OCLC Board of Trustees on ­November 13, 2017. He replaces Sandy Yee, Dean (retired), Wayne State University Library System, Detroit. Bernadette Gray-Little, Chancellor Emerita at the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and Peter Sidorko, University Librarian at the University of Hong Kong, joined the OCLC board.


Christine Moulen, Library Systems Manager at the MIT Libraries, Cambridge, died on November 12, 2017, after a battle with cancer. She was 44.
